concept 3

These were attempts at concept three...I still don't really understand this part, but this exaggerates the difference between where light would flood in and where it would be dark. It makes the "skylights" feel less geometric and more free flowing.

Attempt 2 at concept two

The following are images that show the process I went through for concept two. I see the space being very dark and heavy. Visitors would enter where the fabric says notable and down the center into the tap space where the boxes would be housed.

Attempt 2 at concept one..make space

This was my most recent attempt to create folds that generated space. Think the first example below was the most successful because I see two space being created that are linked by an outdoor area. Not quite sure the whole meaning behind it, but I find it the most intriguing to work with. Example 3 also intrigues me..it could have interesting possibilities.

Concept 1

I think attempt 2 and 5 seem the most successful, but I may try this again tomorrow. Concept 1 and 2 make the most sense, but I'm still struggling over what exactly concept 3 is. I understand it uses fabric and the previous design but other then that I'm somewhat lost....hopefully fiddling with it tomorrow will bring some clarity.

Concept 2

In an attempt to understand how to go about this part with fabric I started by attacking it with paper. Tomorrow I will try this again with fabric...probably two of the following four attempts.

First Presentation

The first presentation/crit was interesting. The way it was run was different but extremely beneficial. I learned a lot about the misconceptions that can occur when your drawings have to speak for themselves.

Section of Site Cast

Just a few images of the small portion of the site that I casted to show the integration of trees and greenery into the design:

Casting and Drawing.....the Next Step

Final casting turnout:

Second attempt at a drawdel focusing on paths of movement and the idea that there is no one path to take. Each visitor's experience is their own.

possible ceiling plan drawdel...not exactly sure how to approach viewing this when other drawings will be with it on the page.

Drawdel section attempt....not what I was looking for....I think the drawings of the sections themselves do a better job at conveying the idea of the carving of the site.
